Thai Foot Massage is a very releasing and relaxing treatment of the lower legs and feet that involves hands on stretching and massage to “open” Sen (energy) Lines, along with the use of a special Thai stick to stimulate the reflex points on the feet.
Thai Foot Massage has been practiced for over 2000 years in Korea, India, China and Japan. It continues to be practiced and taught by Buddhist monks in the temples of Thailand. Using the stick to apply pressure on specific points of your feet to stimulate your internal organs, and the body as a whole, the treatment works on similar principles to Reflexology, but, also includes stretching and Thai massage techniques, and includes the lower legs aswell as the feet.
The treatment encourages your body and mind to balance as well as activating your body's natural healing mechanism.
The benefits of a Thai Foot Massage
You remain dressed for this treatment, as I only need access to your legs up to your knee. It is rather hard to describe how it feels, and the mentioning of the use of a stick may well leave you wondering “what on earth!?” Rest assured, however, it doesn't feel like someone is poking you! The moves that are done with a stick are very skilled and would not be done to the same degree of effectiveness with hands or fingers.
Thai Foot Massage in general is quite firm in pressure, however the treatment is deeply relaxing and paradoxically leaves you feeling revitalised afterwards.
